Leslie Martinson, Performance Coach, is the Associate Artistic Director at TheatreWorks. In over thirty years with TheatreWorks as a director, casting director and administrator, her directing credits include, most recently, Water by the Spoonful, Warrior Class,Time Stands Still, and the West Coast premieres of The Pitmen Painters, Superior Donuts and Theophilus North. She is also the Festival Coordinator for TheatreWorks’ New Works Festival.
A graduate of Occidental College, Leslie has been a Watson Fellow in Political Fringe Theatre, a member of Lincoln Center Directors’ Lab, a member of the LaMaMa International Directing Symposium and has served on Theatre Bay Area’s Theatre Services Committee since 2002, helping to develop the Atlas career training program for actors, directors and playwrights, and adjudicate the Titan Awards. She was awarded an Individual Artist Fellowship in Stage Direction by the Arts Council of Silicon Valley for artistic achievement and community impact. She has directed for City Lights Theatre Company, First Seen, Oakland Opera and Livermore Shakespeare Festival.
Leslie has directed for City Lights Theatre Company, First Seen, Oakland Opera and Livermore Shakespeare Festival. Leslie teaches master classes and workshops for many Bay Area universities and theatre companies, including the Music Theatre Conservatory at Notre Dame de Namur University.
